Have you heard it? There’s a buzz like never before on the Internet. Everyone is talking about Web 2.0. If you’re like many people, you may think it’s a marketing gimmick and quite an overused statement. If so, you would be at least partially right.

Fortunately, there’s another side to the story. Underneath all of the chatter is a concept that is even more powerful than the hype that surrounds it.

The concept of Web 2.0 started as a conference brainstorming session between O’Reilly and MediaLive International. During their discussion, they analyzed the companies that had survived the dot-com collapse. Interestingly enough, many of these companies had quite a few things in common. Was there a connection? Was the dot-com crash a turning point for the web? O’Reilly and MediaLive believed so. And therefore, Web 2.0 was born.

So, what is it?

Wikipedia defines Web 2.0 as:

“The term Web 2.0 refers to a second generation of services available on the World Wide Web that lets people collaborate and share information online. In contrast to the first generation, Web 2.0 gives users an experience closer to desktop applications than the traditional static Web pages. Web 2.0 applications often use a combination of techniques devised in the late 1990s, including public web service APIs (dating from 1998), Ajax (1998), and web syndication (1997). They often allow for mass publishing (web-based social software). The concept may include
blogs and wikis.”

There is no official standard for what makes something “Web 2.0″, but there are certainly a few common attributes
that often describe this new culture of transformation.

You can see many of these concepts in sites like Flickr, del.icious, Wikipedia, Amazon reviews, and the eBay reputation system.

Web 2.0 is built on a system of collective knowledge. It provides a social fabric for the Web, empowering the individual and giving them an outlet for their voice to be heard.

However, we have only seen a small glimpse of the effects of these new transitions. Del.icio.us and Digg are just the beginning of what will soon become a much more interactive Web.

Each day there are a variety of new online applications being released: online spreadsheets, online word processing, to-do lists, reminder services, and personal start pages.

In addition, many of the changes that are evident in the world of Web 2.0 can be seen through common design practices. Old-school HTML was full of boxes and square tables. Today’s web designers are rapidly moving away from boxy designs to flexible curves. When designing for today’s Internet, it’s all about rounded designs, nice big text, gradients, glassy effects, and bright colors.

Rounded Corners:

Let’s face it. The days of good ‘ol tables and square boxes are good and gone. The Web 2.0 era has ushered in the pleasing sight of rounded corners.

Unfortunately, many web masters have spent unending hours trying to obtain perfectly rounded corners. Their pain and suffering has led to a number of tutorials that will help us bypass the grief.

Below are some links to tutorials that will get you started creating your very own rounded corners:

Nice Big Text:

Have you ever been to a web site where you could barely read the text? Well, join the club. Fortunately, times have taken a turn for the better. With Web 2.0, oversized fonts have come into style. You can start using plenty of oversized text to make important messages stand out. Of course, you don’t want all of the text on your web site to be supersized, but make sure that the most important text on the page is bigger than normal text.

Gradients:

Gradients are another popular design element of Web 2.0. This is especially true of backgrounds. A common background used today has a gradient at the top, fading down to some other color that continues throughout the background for the rest of the page.

For a complete tutorial on how to create this type of effect, go to http://www.photoshoplab.com/web20-design-kit.html.

Colors:

Web 2.0 sites are strongly defined by their colors. They nearly always use bright and cheery colors – lots of blue, orange, and lime green.

They also often include large, colorful icons, sometimes with reflections and drop shadows. To see some samples of how web sites are effectively using bright colors, check out:

http://www.9rules.com/

http://www.iconbuffet.com/

http://www.linkedin.com/

Other common design characteristics include the use of tabs, reflections, glassy effects, large buttons, and big text boxes for submission forms.

Sites that are embracing Web 2.0 can also often be identified by their tag clouds. If you have traveled the web much in the last 6 months, then you have surely seen tag clouds. They are used prominently on del.icio.us, Technorati, and Flickr. A tag cloud is basically a visual depiction of the content on a website. Often times, more popular tags are shown in a larger font.

Why not add a tag cloud to your own site? Not only do they look cool, but they also provide your visitor with a search tool that helps them to find your content quickly and easily.

You can create your own tag cloud with a very simple service called Eurekster Swicki. This is a community-based search engine that creates free tag clouds for web sites.

Although we have discussed many of the design elements associated with Web 2.0, this change is much more than just an aesthetic transition. Web 2.0 is essentially about a transition in the way we experience the Internet. The new Ajax programming base allows web masters to create an architecture of participation for their users. Web 2.0 refers to the ongoing transition to full participation on the Web.

Your web site can be so much more than an information resource. Your web presence is a place. With the proper programming skills, you can create a virtual world complete with an online shopping mall that compares prices from a variety of merchants, looks for potential coupons, and displays Amazon reviews.

In addition, traditional desktop applications are rapidly becoming available online as a service. Why not offer your visitors the ability to create their own to-do lists, online note pads, reminder services, and personal start pages?

Four separate areas of study make up a full CompTIA A+; you’re qualified as competent at A+ once you’ve passed your exams for 2 out of 4 subjects. For this reason, most colleges limit themselves to 2 study areas. In fact you will need the information on each subject as many jobs will require an understanding of the entire course. It’s not essential to take all four exams, although it would seem prudent that you study for all four areas.

As well as learning about building and fixing computers, trainees involved in this training will have instruction on how to work in antistatic conditions, how to fault find, to diagnose and to remotely access problems. It could be a good idea to think about adding the CompTIA Network+ training as you’ll then be in a position to look after networks of computers, and become a more senior IT professional.

Talk to any specialised advisor and they’ll entertain you with many terrible tales of how students have been duped by salespeople. Ensure you only ever work with an experienced industry professional who digs deep to find out what’s appropriate to you – not for their bank-account! You need to find an ideal starting-point that fits you. With a bit of real-world experience or base qualifications, your starting-point of learning is not the same as someone new to the industry. For those students embarking on IT studies anew, it’s often a good idea to break yourself in gently, beginning with a user-skills course first. This can be built into most training packages.

Students hoping to begin an IT career usually have no idea which way is best to let it reach the area in which, to their certification in. For in the absence of commercial skills in the IT industry, how can the majority expected of us that they will understand what a particular job is like? In general, occur at the way this issue is accordingly a thorough conversation, for a variety of topics:

* Your hobbies and interests – as they can reveal the areas you’ll get the most enjoyment out of.

* Why you want to consider starting in Information Technology – maybe you want to triumph over some personal goal such as being self-employed maybe.

* Any personal or home requirements you may have?

* When taking into account all that IT encapsulates, you really need to be able to see the differences.

* You’ll also need to think hard about the level of commitment that you will set aside for your education.

In actuality, your only option to investigate these issues is through a chat with an advisor or professional who has years of experience in the IT industry (and more importantly the commercial needs.)

Job security can be honest and there is no place? In the UK such a market, and business at an alarming rate to change their mind, it seems increasingly unlikely. In the growing shortage of high skills needs of the area of the era, however, we can find a new market the brand's safety; to promote the conditions for sustained economic growth, the company is trying to find the required levels.

The computing Industry skills-gap across Great Britain is standing at just over twenty six percent, as noted by the 2006 e-Skills investigation. Basically, we’re only able to fill just three out of 4 positions in the computer industry. Well taught and commercially certified new workers are consequently at a complete premium, and in all likelihood it will stay that way for a long time. It would be hard to imagine if a better time or market settings could exist for obtaining certification in this rapidly emerging and evolving industry.

The way in which your courseware is broken down for you can often be overlooked. In what way are your training elements sectioned? And in what sequence and at what speed is it delivered? Normally, you will join a program taking 1-3 years and get sent one module each time you pass an exam. It seems to make sense on one level, but consider these issues: It’s not unusual for trainees to realise that their training company’s ‘standard’ path of training doesn’t suit. You may find that it’s more expedient to use an alternative order of study. Perhaps you don’t make it inside of the expected timescales?

In an ideal situation, you’d ask for every single material to be delivered immediately – meaning you’ll have all of them for the future to come back to – whenever it suits you. You can also vary the order in which you move through the program if you find another route more intuitive.

We can’t make a big enough deal out of this point: Always get full 24×7 instructor support. You will have so many problems later if you don’t heed this. Many only provide email support (too slow), and so-called telephone support is normally just routed to a call-centre that will chat nicely with you for 5 minutes to ask what the issue is and then simply send an email to an instructor – who’ll call back sometime over the next 1-3 days, when it’s convenient to them. This is no use if you’re sitting there confused over an issue and have a one hour time-slot in which to study.

Be on the lookout for training programs that use several support centres around the globe in several time-zones. Each one should be integrated to give a single entry point as well as round-the-clock access, when you need it, with no fuss. Never compromise when it comes to your support. The vast majority of students who can’t get going properly, are in that situation because of a lack of support.

As a staple of life our need to eat has developed from a basic form of simply feeding our bodies with the fuel it requires, to a complicated art of presentation and taste combined with our intrinsic need to experiment with everything we see, touch, smell and of course taste.

The ever-increasing divergence of foods that is now available to us at our local stores and eating-places only help to confuse and tantalise us into new culinary experiments and delights.

From the sandwich shop's award-winning restaurants, we can always find a place that prepares and sells the food we want at a reasonable price, although it can cook or prepare meals for us with a cheaper or healthier option it never seems the same flavor than our local restaurant. Most people who develop their own versions and variations of the local view, Chinese, Indian or other international courts do not have the same flavor and texture and will often opt for an authentic meal from their local restaurant or cooked.

Cooking at home has become less of a choice and more of a chore. With the large amount of ready meals available, the option of spending time in the kitchen becomes less and less appealing. People are spending more of their time and money in the world of fast foods and restaurants. Although some believe this to be a bad thing it has fuelled a new market in available meals that are only a phone call away. As long as the health and hygiene departments vet these establishments and our choices are varied, of good quality and healthy their use can be a good alternative to cooking our own meals.

With the entry of fast foods and the quick cook and ready meals available along with the increasing choice of world cuisine, the enjoyment of these different foods have opened new opportunities for consumers when purchasing food.

In today's busy world where leisure time is increasingly important, the less time working and preparing to eat allows us more time for the performance of our operations, our free time.

People who do not have the ability, time or will to cook at home now, just pick up the phone or click on the Internet to their local restaurant or fast food retailer that will be as happy to deliver fresh to find ready, willing, with hot food, just eat at the door with a minimum of effort.

Although the fast food retailers compete fiercely with one another by their offers and cheaper and healthier alternatives to entice us to their premises to the main stay of traditional restaurants still an important role in our lives.

Even though these places are far out numbered by the fast food industry, we still enjoy sitting down in a nice comfortable and pleasant environment than a restaurant and dining on good quality food at a leisurely pace, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the fast food rush.

Traditional restaurants will always provide us with a comfortable chooses to stay home to eat, ordered from a local fast-food or the adopted or the busy little cafe-style restaurant access drive. Do not forget these special occasions or a romantic date, these are still ordered the quiet stylish quality food and beverage needs, we know that wine and food service will always be excellent and exciting experiences and charming.

Jewelry Wholesale: Sterling Silver Jewelry Wholesale Prices

The price range can vary tremendously and you may find it hard to have a decent profit and stay competitive in this field. Box number!) email address hours of operation and a phone number for calls outside of the country. Outlandish and rococo-style plates and cups can find their customer but those will be rare and few. Once you’ve put together your clothing Wholesale Jewelry list, you can access all your clothing Wholesale Jewelry information at once. This makes your job as a clothing retailer much easier, and will help you complete your goals that much more efficiently. Look for information online. Most clothing Wholesale Jewelrys have their own web sites that will contain all the information you need for your clothing Wholesale Jewelry list. Once you work with some of these suppliers, you can add notes to your list that will help you in the future. The clothing Wholesale Jewelry list is a great way to keep everything organized, so you can access a supplier’s information at a moment’s notice. What is a Wholesale Jewelryr? In a nutshell, it is a company that buys (usually directly) from a manufacturer in large quantities at a discount, then pieces out the product into smaller quantities that are then sold for a higher price. The usual chain of product goes: Manufacturer > Wholesale Jewelryr > Retailer > Customer.. This is the system used my most large mail order catalog companies and web sites that have the capital to purchase their own inventories.

Wholesale Jewelry Roll

You have to set up the logistics of creating and manufacturing the circuit board that goes into it. While this may seem like an easy way to earn an income you should look at this method carefully because you may be able to earn even more money by not having to rely on distributors. When you select a highly competitive area to focus on such as electronics or babies’ products it will take a much longer time before you will achieve a return on investment and you’ll need to invest much more to get things moving. So if you need to buy appliance parts for your appliances at home it would be best to look for accredited appliance parts dealer. Nevertheless, there are also some dealers who may not have accreditation but are also known for quality parts; these types of dealers may also be a source of appliance parts that you may need.. If you are starting a new business then SaleHoo gives you the freedom to purchase wholesale on a budget.

Wholesale Body Jewelry Parts

Having the perfect opera gloves is essential but finding them through a retailer who can offer them at a good price is hard at best. Working from home is not that hard to do if you are a determined individual but most people just do not have the right information. The round cut is one of the most popular classic cuts that are being sold by loose diamonds wholesale suppliers. See more at Purchase Jewelry Making Kits That launch was in 1997 in a small Mississippi warehouse that I used as my studio as I could not afford much more and launch the cartoons without a full time job.

Black Hills Gold Wholesale Medical Jewelry

People tend to hold on to pretty cute items like well made boxes. A ready supply of basic tools and supplies should be maintained to ensure that the manufacturing process is carried on smoothly. Fashion jewelry has delighted the bling enthusiasts with their chic and trendy appeal. Get more info at Discount Wholesale Jewelry It’s important to realize that once you’ve made a find or two you may become addicted to visiting yard and estate sales.

Counter Top Jewelry Display Wholesale

For many individuals selling on eBay is what draws them to drop shipping. You need to reach out to your potential market and encourage them to patronize your business. f you are looking to expand your drop shipping business or trying to decide what is best for your new home based business then you may want to consider the differences between using a drop shipping supplier versus a bulk Jewelry Wholesale supplier. In some cases Overstock approaches its existing fulfillment partners and manufacturers seeking products in case pack quantities. Learn more on Wholesale Jewelry at http://www.pearlsilvergold-sale.info Let me give you a description of a few very popular cuts that are sure to please your fiance.

You don’t have to look like Mel Gibson or Pamela Anderson to get members of the opposite sex to go weak at the knees. All you need is great smile and follow the few simple tips we have put together for you below and they will be attracted to you like paparazzi to a movie star.

1) EYE CONTACT
Create eye contact with the person you want to flirt with for around 5 seconds. Just smile a little and look away slowly. Try this at least 3 times in the first 15 – 20 mins. Your target needs to know your interested and eye contact is the universal signal for openness. Be careful not to stare so hard that you will burn a whole right through them, just keep it casual. And remember they are just as nervous as you.

2) SMILING
Smiling is definitely your greatest flirting weapon. Experts agree smiling is the easiest and most effective way of making yourself look more attractive and approachable. Nothing to over the top just keeps it realistic. If you have been successful in locking eyes and you have been receiving smiles. Its time to take the plunge, he/she is very interested in getting to know you better so what are you waiting for?

3) SECOND GLANCE
Women if you have been eyeing someone off at a party, or anywhere really, but you have not been noticed yet try the second glance technique. It’s so simple and I guarantee if they are even slightly interested you will very soon have their entire concentration focused on you. Its simple, it works the same, as eye contact but has to be done from a much closer distance. I usually do a walk by making sure i am about to walk into her line of sight. And when I force her to fall into my line of site I look away and then turn back to look again very subtle, in a way that nobody would have even seen except her and instantly drop the smile and eye contact.

4) SELF-PRUNING
Watch your targets body language when he/she is looking at you are they beautifying themselves? Its a subconscious thing we tend to groom ourselves a lot more frequently when we are attracted to someone. If your target is not showing these signs there is no reason why you cant do them.

5) ITS IN THE LIPS
Another great subconscious trick is to lick your lips. No not like a porn star the best way to describe it is like you do when you have chaffed lips but a lil slower. Licking your lips is the minds way of recognizing that you are preparing for a kiss.

6) CROSSING YOUR LEGS
Women cross your legs. Its another sure fire flirting technique and sends guys crazy and wanting to see more.

7) SHAPE UP
Guys, stand tall and straight don’t slouch remember you’re trying to be the most prominent man in the room so feel like it and she will start to see it. Be calm and pull your shoulders back show that you are confident.

LET YOUR FEET DO THE TALKING
Body language experts state that women should stand with their feet no more then 6 inches apart and with toes pointing inwards. While men should position their feet 6 – 10 inches apart with their toes pointing outwards to promote the sign of dominance.

9) MIME
The highest form of any type of flattery has always been to imitate someone. Try not to go to overboard and make a fool of yourself. Just pick up on the way your target talks holds themselves slight similarities will make your target feel more comfortable.

10) PAY ATTENTION
Focus on what your target is saying, Rarely can you find someone more attractive then someone that finds you genuinely interesting, SO BE THAT PERSON. The one that finds them really interesting. Keep things simple and light listen to what they are saying and through in a few jokes here and there just to keep the smiles working. Don’t be afraid to touch them in a non-sexual manner. Often it can be received as very soothing especially coming from a man. As a man you should never underestimate the power of our hands when used in a sensual and caring manner.
Follow the signals above and keep them in mind throughout your first contact. Avoid the typical stereotype advances of trying to show off. Its as see through as glass and will only make you look like your really not genuine about getting to know them at all.

Most people think that vitamin and mineral supplements are pretty much alike. This is partly due to the health food manufacturers grouping them in one or more pills. The truth however, is very different, and needs to be understood clearly.
Vitamins are non-toxic (with a few exceptions) and overdosing merely means possibly “wasting” money, as the excess is excreted easily without damage. So, since vitamins are relatively cheap, by “overdosing” you are assuring your body enough for good health, even if some is ?wasted”.
The exceptions to the above are the oil-based vitamins. These are A, D, K, and E. These are stored in the liver, and may cause toxic problems over time. That’s the bad news – the good news is that it’s very difficult to “overdose” on any of these today. The. FDA laws strictly limit dosages of these. An adult can safely take up to 25,000 (International Units (IU) per day of vitamin A, and up to 2000 IU of vitamin D. Vitamin E levels of over 1600 IU per day have shown no toxic effects (probably because E is used up in the body as an antioxidant). Few people even take K, as it is mostly manufactured within the body by “friendly” bacteria in the gut. All the B complex and C complex are water soluble, and any excess simply goes out the urine pathway.
Each person absorbs both vitamins and/or minerals differently. This is individuality. One person may require 10 times more than a vitamin (or mineral) than another – in the same family. Another reason for taking much more than you might actually need. For example, some survivors of war prison camps actually require up to 100 times of some of the B complex vitamins “normally” required for health. This is due to vitamin deficiencies suffered and this trauma caused the ability to absorb to change.
Minerals are very different and even nutritional minerals can become toxic.
One example is copper, necessary for manufacturing blood, but causing depression and schizophrenia when too much is absorbed and stored. Of course, mercury, arsenic, cadmium (smokers), lead, and aluminum are all known to cause brain problems in toxic amounts.
The “balance” of certain minerals with others is very important to health as well. For example, the balance of calcium to magnesium is important as these two form the electrical battery that keeps the heart beating. Sodium and potassium are another pair that supply the power to move material into and out of cells in the body. There are many more such balances. My book, ?The Health Revolution? may be found on the www.Alternate-Health.com website below has much more info on vitamins and minerals.

Many people think that because they take a popular advertised multi-vitamin with the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) they are OK. Even worse are the cereal ads that depend on the RDA! Wrong! No competent nutritionist or person who has studied vitamins believes this false and misleading advertising.
The RDA was originally set up many years ago as a result of a study by labs. Guess what? These labs were at General Foods, Kellogg’s, and Nabisco. A very definite vested interest indeed! In addition, it was originally set up as the MDA (Minimum Daily Allowance. That’s a minimum of each vitamin or mineral to PREVENT the nutritional deficiency diseases of scurvy, pellagra, and beriberi. The ads would have us believe these amounts are the minimum (or recommended) for ?good health?.
The fact is that these once daily popular vitamin supplements do a lot of harm, because too many people think that they are getting good supplementation. They will prevent an actual deficiency disease – that?s true enough, but they do not have enough to ensure even fair health.
75 mg of Vitamin C is about the amount in one orange, and while it may keep a person from severe scurvy, it isn’t even close for good health. The RDA might only keep you from very severe nutritional diseases! For better health you need much more, as every competent nutritionist can tell you.
With the above factors in mind, the following basic list is what I have been recommending to my family, friends, students, and patients for many years. All have experienced better health as a result, some dramatically. This is the “basic” list, and additions should be made for individual needs. (See my book for much more information such as B6 for PMS, E for heart, and much more).
For the “average” person in fairly good health, I recommend Solgar VM75 1/day preferably taken with, or after, breakfast. This supplies the base amounts of B complex, natural E, D, A, and some small amounts of minerals.
I have been recommending and using Solgar VM75 (found in most independent health food stores) for many years with excellent results. However, it’s true that the water-soluble vitamins only last 4-8 hours in the body, so twice a day supplementation is somewhat better than once a day, if you are not quite so healthy. (I still take the VM75, and I’m in pretty good health for my age – 79 (2006).
Four Grams of additional Vitamin C. (4000 mg). Preferably split with 2gm AM and 2gm PM. This is a MINIMUM for continued good health. In the cold/flu season, make it 3 AM and 3 PM minimum. What is not well known is that Vitamin C is both a bactericide and a viricide. However, you have to saturate the blood to kill ALL of either present. If this is not done, and even a few are left – they quickly get back to strength. They double in numbers in about 200 minutes. If you know binary math, from 1 microbe to 1 million microbes in less that 400 minutes!
The animal doctors in zoos have set up four grams per day as a minimum for a 150 pound ape, and that ape has exactly the same need for Vitamin C, and the same basic body mechanisms needing it as we do! By the way, Vitamin C in these amounts will also tend to prevent mineral toxicity, as Vitamin C joins with all excess minerals in the blood, makes them water soluble and takes them out via the urine route.
Some form of additional calcium and magnesium is also a good idea, but here the guidelines are pretty blurred. Unless the calcium intake is balanced with the magnesium intake, there will usually be an excess of blood calcium. This causes those pesky and painful bone spurs, kidney stones, calcium deposits in various parts of the body, etc.
The ?usual? recommendation for calcium found in most nutritional books is a 2/1 ratio of Ca/Mg. I have been convinced by results that this is NOT correct for most persons in our culture.
In our present culture with a lot of meat and dairy products, not to mention the media hype about calcium – and the fewer amounts of leafy vegetables consumed, we usually get too much more calcium and too little magnesium. Without magnesium (and other vitamins and minerals), the blood calcium can’t get changed chemically into bone calcium. Accordingly, I now recommend that these supplements be more closely balanced. For a more accurate indication of how much to take, a hair analysis will give you much better ratios and recommendations for better mineral balance.
Summary of Basic MINIMUM Supplements
Multi equal to VM-75 1/day (Children from 9 years old to 17 can take ? VM-75)
Vitamin C – 4 Grams (4000 mg) – more in flu season. Children by body weight.
Additional Vitamin E – After 30 – add 400 IU per day. After 50 – add 600 IU per day.
Calcium/magnesium – As stated above, this depends on your diet. If you eat meat and/or dairy products, you need to balance this calcium intake with magnesium. I now recommend taking approximately the same amount of magnesium as calcium. While the correct ratio of intake is 2/1, meat and particularly dairy eaters get much more calcium in their diets without supplementation, and therefore need more magnesium for balance.
There are many additional vitamins/minerals and/or other supplements that should be added to the above “basic” regime, depending on individual needs. While the above is a very good basic regimen, and if you aren’t in pretty good health, you will feel better within a day or so after starting on it. At 79 years old, I’m in pretty good health, and I’ve been taking it for over 25 years. I hope this helps you and yours.

Logos are everywhere to be seen… rather, we can even call them omnipresent! Wherever we go, we find ourselves literally surrounded by logos. Be it our homes, office, restaurants, market, shopping malls, roads… you name it and it’s there. Since the Industrial Revolution, there has been a sea change in the commercial outlook of the world. Rapid industrialization led to the emergence of corporate organizations and business houses; all striving to make their products popular in the common market. The present century is now confronting the outcome of the Industrial Revolution that began in the 19th century- the boom of numerous industrial products and their logos, all competing to create a niche for themselves in the market.

Regardless of the present scenario, have you ever wondered about the inception of these symbolic drawings, now called logos? Most of them have not even spared a thought about its origin. The logo history dates back to Greece in ancient times. The term ‘logo’ was coined to mean a trademark, name or symbol designed for easy recognition. The logo made its first beginning through a cipher of single letter, and later a design or mark comprising of two or more letters. It’s however, not known whether the cipher was used as the name of a person, or surname or stationary or business purpose. A number of early Greek and Roman coins bear the monograms of rulers and towns. The Middle Ages saw the abundant use of similar logos for ecclesiastical and commercial purposes.

In the thirteenth century, the logo remained in vogue as simple letterhead used by merchants in their trade. By 1700, every trader or dealer had a trademark or stamp. Marks for masons, goldsmiths, papermakers and nobility constitute the early examples of logo design. However, there was a major turn around in the late 1800′s with the emergence of Industrial Revolution in Europe. There was a dramatic gain in the importance and value of trademarks on account of the growth in the number of national and multinational corporations. There was an overall transformation in the relationship between the sellers and the purchasers. Prior to the Industrial Revolution, trademarks were used just to make the purchasers recognize their items of purchase. But the scenario after the revolution wiped out the identity of the purchaser, who was now an unknown mass of people. Hence, even the trademarks evolved into larger design or symbols to communicate the message of business organizations to the people at large.

As industrialization tightened its hold over most of the countries of the world, logo designing came to be recognized as an essential aspect for the success of a business. Logos served not only as brand ambassadors but also to differentiate different products. From the 1940′s to the present, logos have changed roles to express “corporate identity”, “brand essence”, “advertising and marketing tools”. Successful logos have come to signify a lifestyle; they set the trends for the masses to imitate. Today, a company logo design stands for not only its products but also its ideal
